American Chemical Society
The American Chemical Society is a scientific society based around the scientific field of chemistry. It was founded in 1876 at New York University and holds more than 161,000 members at all degree levels in all fields of chemistry, chemical engineering and related fields.
Our University of Pittsburgh chapter, holding over 50 undergraduate students, focuses on outreach teaching children the importance and fun of chemistry! Pitt ACS has been involved with National Chemistry Week at the Carnegie Science Center, YCC Chemistry Carnival, and Saturday Science.
